FWCS'S MISSION: EDUCATING FOR ETERNITY

The mission of First Wesleyan Christian School is to create mature Christian disciples who will be academically and spiritually equipped to be productive future citizens for both our nation and the Kingdom of God.

The Scriptures teach in Deuteronomy 6:1-7 that a Christian's life cannot be divided into the secular and the sacred and that God's Word must saturate every aspect of a child's daily life. Therefore, rather than being in a school that teaches nonChristian world-life-views and values, children need to be in a school that agrees with the teachings of home and church. Such an exposure to conflicting values and world-vi ews produces uncertainty and spiritual confusion in the minds of Christian children when they are taught one set of values at home and a contradictory set at school.

In order to protect children from this spiritual confusion and to fulfill God's clear command to diligently teach His Word to children in every daily activity, First Wesleyan Christian School seeks to achieve the following spiritual and educational goals:

"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and might. These commandments that I, (the Lord) give you today are to be upon your hearts. Teach them diligently to your children and talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up."
